This method is not advertised at clients
pages and intended for the internal administrative Import.
Method allows creating user accounts in your database. This is a
great way to import user accounts from another classified or from
a list of emails.
Folder Miscellaneous/User_Import
contains 2 files:
user_import.xls - A
trimmed version of ads import plus Excel template, which
contains only user fields.
admin_import_user.asp - A page which used to import user
data into classified.
The method of preparing
a spreadsheet, converting Excel into the MS Access is the same
as with main Ads Import methods and may be referred from
appropriated chapter of this manual. After you filled all users
data in the Excel template and converted it into MS Access,
upload the resulted database into the Import folder at
your classified. Upload admin_import_user.asp into the
root of your classified and run this page in browser. The Import
database would be evaluated and user data imported into the
classified. If duplicate emails are discovered, the accounts for
duplicates would not be created.
Carefully fill the content of the
template! As with Ads Import Plus, the User
Import method is irreversible when it comes to user
accounts. Once imported, they may not be removed in any way
other than by manually from a user manager. There is also no
Import management for imported user account. Once imported,
accounts may be managed the same way as regular user accounts
via user manager.
To prevent duplicated user names, each new
account would have a generated user name. In addition, a
password would be generated and emailed to each new user created
during user import. Email template Account_Import in
Content management is used to send notifications. Feel free to
modify it.
